89TH Session Legislative Priorities
We believe all entities receiving public dollars for education must be held to the same rigorous financial and academic transparency and accountability standards.

Increase per-student funding for public schools to meet the needs of students and index it to inflation
- Increase pay for all teachers
- Reduce property tax rates
- Add campus support staff to reduce burdens on teachers
- Cover inflationary increases to fuel, utilities, insurance and more
- Reduce recapture
- Increase opportunities for enrichment programs for all students
- Increase classroom support for student academic and behavioral needs

Fully fund programs and requirements enacted by the state legislature.
- Fully fund required armed security officers and physical security measures for each campus
- Fully fund required full-day PreK programs
- Fully fund provision of special education services
- Fully fund schools based on enrollment instead of attendance

Provide meaningful assessment and accountability that holistically measures school performance.
- Recognize the expectations of local communities by including measures beyond performance on state assessments
- Accurately measure student growth in required knowledge and skills for each subject
- Account for changing student needs and time spent within a school district prior to assessment
- Align accepted industry-based certifications with regional workforce needs
- Provide consistency and transparency for schools and communities
