Board Member Elisa Klein

Elisa Klein was elected to her first term on the Plano ISD Board of Trustees in May 2025. A graduate of Plano East Senior High School, Ms. Klein holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a master’s in public administration, and a Certificate in User Experience (UX) Design form Southerm Methodist University. She and her husband, Michael, own an IT consulting business and have two children in Plano ISD schools.

Ms. Klein’s professional background includes roles with the City of Dallas, City of Lubbock, and the Texas House of Representatives, where she gained experience in public policy, contract negotiation, and community engagement. She has also worked in healthcare procurement and compliance.

A committed volunteer, Ms. Klein has served in leadership roles with the Plano ISD Education Foundation Board and in various PTA positions. Her efforts have helped secure a National PTA School of Excellence designation and a STEM + Families Science Festival Grant. Ms. Klein is a recipient of the Texas PTA Life Membership Award, a member of the NAACP Collin County Branch, and is recognized for her advocacy during Texas Legislative Sessions on behalf of students and families.

During her first year as a Plano ISD trustee, Ms. Klein served on the Board's Legislative Subcommittee as the Board liaison to the Plano ISD Council of PTAs and the Head Start Parent Policy Council. She also participated in leadership development through the Holdsworth Center's Texas School Board Institute and is a member of Raise Your Hand Texas' inaugural Community Leaders Fellowship cohort, further strengthening her commitment to effective governance and public education advocacy.
