Code of Civility
The Plano Code of Civility
In Plano ISD, we believe in a thriving school community where everyone feels empowered and valued. The Plano Code of Civility is our shared commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all. It's guided by our district's vision of excellence, caring, and learning—a vision we are all Plano ISD Proud to uphold.
The Plano Code is built on four core principles, which we developed with feedback from our teachers, students, and community, and are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) character traits. These principles are:
- Trustworthy: Build trust through honesty and integrity.
- Caring: Foster a culture of kindness and empathy.
- Responsible: Take ownership of your actions and commitments.
- Respectful Citizens: Create a positive and inclusive environment where every voice is heard.
By embracing the Plano Code, we all work together to ensure our schools are welcoming, safe, and positive spaces.
Need to Resolve a Concern?
We are committed to helping you resolve any issues with dignity and respect. If you have a complaint or concern, we encourage you to start by contacting the appropriate teacher, principal, or campus administrator. Our goal is to ensure that through respectful communication, everyone can feel heard and valued.
