Credit by Exam
Credit by Exam (CBE) allows students to earn credit and advance academically by demonstrating mastery of grade-level or course content.

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in and attending a Plano ISD school (if school is in session) to participate.

Grades K–8: Students may test to advance one full grade level.

High School Courses: Students may earn credit for courses they have not yet taken, or in some cases, for courses they previously attempted but did not pass.

The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) implemented new rules, effective August 2018, requiring school districts to provide annual reports on the exams offered to students for acceleration and credit for secondary school academic subjects.
