High School Course Credit By Exams

Credit By Exam Testing Information

Plano ISD offers Credit by Exam (CBE) tests for High School courses through an online platform that allows students to test remotely from home using a computer or device with a microphone and webcam. Tests are monitored with Proctorio, a secure data monitoring system that ensures a safe testing experience.

Credit by Exam Process

The process begins with your student contacting their campus counselor.  

  1. Application – Submit the paper CBE application to the school counselor by the deadline (must include parent/guardian signature).

  2. Confirmation Copy – A PDF copy of the submitted application will be emailed to the parent/guardian from Forms@pisd.edu.

  3. How to Test Letter – Parents/guardians and students will receive instructions via School Messenger 1–2 weeks before the test window.

  4. Reminders – Testing reminders will be sent before, during, and after the test window through School Messenger.

  5. Results – Score reports will be emailed via School Messenger to parents/guardians and students 2–3 weeks after the test window closes.
