STAAR Middle School

STAAR Grades 6-8 Overview 

Students in grades 6 through 8 participate in the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program. Students will be assessed in the core subject areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. The STAAR assessment focuses on content taught during the current year rather than testing knowledge and skills learned over multiple years. STAAR assessments have a time limit. Unless a student is eligible for a designated support (accommodation), each student will have four hours to complete each assessment.
