Student Observers & Interns - Field-Based Experience

Observation Requests Are Closed

Observation requests for the 2025-2026 school year are closed. Summer observations are not available. Please return in August to request an observation for the 2026-2027 school year.

Plano ISD welcomes students needing field-based experience requests during the fall and spring semesters. Placement availability is limited. Therefore, we ask that placement requests be made as early in the semester as possible. Requests are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis until placements are filled.

To request a placement, please follow the guidelines and steps listed below and have your university/program submit a request for placement**.

**All three steps must be completed before approval can be granted.

Step 1: Complete Application

• Students must complete and submit the Plano ISD online Field-Based Experience Application. 
• This use this document to help you navigate our application.
• The Criminal History background check will be run upon completion of the application.

Step 2: Submit Request

• Student must also complete the Field-Based Experience Request form. 

Step 3: Advisor Verification 

• Have their advisor e-mail verification for the request to jill.kelly@pisd.edu
