Webdesk (Classlink) allows Plano ISD educators, staff, and students to access their digital textbooks (HMH, Savvas, Discovery, etc.), digital resources (Dreambox, Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.), and files (files on the network, Google Drive, or Office 365) using single sign-on.

Webdesk Resources - Teachers

Teacher Console (For Teachers Only)

Educators can use the "My Classes" button, or Teacher Console, to view digital textbooks and resources, view/print student Quickcards (QR Codes), as well as customize apps for their classes. It allows teachers to "push" out apps to the students' "My Backpack", which is on each student's dashboard.

1. At the bottom of Webdesk, click the "My Classes" icon to open the Teacher Console.

2. Your rostered classes will open in a new tab. Here you will see the digital textbooks and resources assigned to you from our SIS.

QuickCards

Activate your QuickCard

You can print out a QuickCard to sign into the Chromebook and Webdesk without having to type!

1. Sign into Webdesk

2. Click on your profile picture on the top right and select "My Profile"

3. Select "Sign-in options" on the left menu

4. Next to QuickCard, click on the blue link icon to connect your QuickCard. Then you can click "Print" icon.

Teachers: Creating Quick Cards for students

1. To view/print QuickCards, open your class:

2. Click "Students"

3. Click "Manage All" in the upper left side of the page to open all of your students' Quickcards. To open specific students, click on the checkmark next to their name and click "Manage Selected" to only open their Quickcards:

4. Your students will appear on the page. Click "print" to print the Quickcards.

Assigning Apps to Students

1. Clicking on one of the classes will bring you into a more detailed view where you will see all the apps assigned to that class.

2. Apps can be launched by clicking on them or removed by hovering over them and then clicking Remove.

3. Clicking on Add New App will bring out the App Library which will allow you to select which apps you want to add to this class. The App Library in Teacher Console will mirror the App Library in LaunchPad giving you access to all the same apps.

4. Once you have added apps to your classes, your students will be able to access those apps from their My Classes backpack.

Accessing your Network H and S Drives

1. To access your H and S Drives from Webdesk, click the My Files icon at the bottom middle of your Webdesk dashboard.

2. If you see the pop-up for "Open ClassLinkAgent", check the box and click Open ClassLinkAgent.

3. Select School Network. Your H Drive is the "_Home Folder" and you will also see any S Drive folders to which you are associated.

Don't see your files?

Verify your Webdesk password (LDAP) and then try again.

Accessing Webdesk from Windows Desktop Shortcut

Accessing Webdesk on Windows Desktop

(This does NOT apply to Chromebooks. Students are automatically signed into Webdesk when they sign into a Chromebook).

These directions are for teachers of either younger grades or special ed who would like to give their students easier access to Webdesk. Rather than having the student open the Chrome browser and type webdesk.pisd.edu, follow the steps below to add the Webdesk shortcut to their desktop.

Add the Webdesk shortcut to the desktop

1. Sign into a network laptop or desktop computer as the student.

2. Open the PISD Apps folder.

3. Right-click the PISD Webdesk shortcut and send it to the desktop. Students can double-click the Webdesk shortcut to launch it. The next step is to set Chrome as the default browser on the computer. See below.

Set Chrome as the default browser

1. Click on the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" (3 vertical dots - located on the top-right corner of the browser, select "Settings"). It will open a new tab titled 'Settings' in the browser.

2. From the top of the page, go down to the "default browser" (the 4th subtitle, right below "search engine") and click on "Make DEFAULT". If you do not see "Make DEFAULT" button, the Chrome browser is the default.

3. The Settings > Default apps section will be opened. Under "Web browser", click on the name of the current default browser will open the "Choose an app" list. Select "Google Chrome".

Connect your Google Account

Connecting your Google account allows you to easily sign into Webdesk by just clicking the "Sign in with Google" button at the login screen, rather than having to type your username and password. Let's set it up!

1. Click on your profile on the top right and choose Settings.

2. Select the Sign In menu at the top.

3. Under Google Account, click on the link button. If prompted, select your PISD Google account.

4. Done! Now, the next time you sign into Webdesk, use the Sign in with Google button.

Verify Your Password

Troubleshooting Tips

If you cannot access online textbooks or other online programs from Webdesk, you might need to take these initial troubleshooting steps.

🔑Verify your Webdesk Password (Update "LDAP/Active Directory")

Go to your profile at the top right.
Click Settings.
Click Sign-In Options.
Click the person icon under "LDAP/Active Directory."
Enter your password two times on the new screen.
Click Save at the bottom. A success message should appear.

Click on 3 dots ⠇at the top right of the browser to open the Chrome menu.
Click on Delete Browsing Data.
Check the boxes next to ☑ "Cookies and other site data" and ☑ “Cached images and files.”
In the Time range field, select “All Time”. Click on Clear data at the bottom.

Login Problems on a Desktop?

Accessing Webdesk on a desktop computer at home or at school in Chrome is recommended. PISD staff and students can follow these easy steps to sign in to the Chrome browser.

Open the Chrome web browser.
Click on the person icon at the top right of the screen.
Click "Sign into Chrome".
Enter your PISD email address and password.

Why Webdesk?

Webdesk webdesk.pisd.edu (Classlink) gives you access to your online textbooks and digital academic resources AND gives you access to files at school or in the cloud.

This lightweight alternative to carrying textbooks around all day gives you access to all instructional/textbook-related materials you need.
You can customize your Webdesk dashboard by rearranging tiles, organizing tiles into folders, and changing the theme/background.
Some apps/online textbooks are assigned to the Webdesk dashboard via our SIS and those cannot be edited.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you cannot access online textbooks or other online programs from Webdesk, you might need to take these initial troubleshooting steps.
