Internal Audit

The Internal Audit Department is established by the Plano ISD Board of Trustees, and its responsibilities are defined in board policy CFC(LOCAL).  The department reports functionally to the audit committee of the board of trustees and administratively to the superintendent.  This reporting structure allows the internal audit function to be positioned independently with direct board accountability. 

The internal audit function’s purpose in the district is to strengthen the district’s ability to create, protect, and sustain value by providing the board and management with independent, risk-based, and objective assurance, advice, insight, and foresight.

The internal audit function is performed by competent professionals and is in alignment with the 2024 Global Internal Audit Standards.
