Language Assessment Center

To provide appropriate instruction for Emergent Bilingual students, their English language skills must be assessed. Elementary students who speak Spanish will also take a Spanish language assessment.

Estimated Testing Times

Head Start & PK-Kindergarten

PreLAS English: 30 minutes
PreLAS English/Spanish: 30 minutes

Grade 1

LAS English: 30 minutes
LAS English/Spanish: 1 hour

Grades 2–5

LAS English: 2 hours
LAS English/Spanish: 3 hours

Grades 6–8 and 9-12

LAS English: 2 hours
