New Teacher Support

Plano ISD provides campus mentors for all new teachers. Experienced teachers hired into Plano ISD receive one year of mentor support while novice teachers receive support during their first two years. Additionally, teachers new to the profession participate in Plano New Teacher University, a year-round learning experience designed to provide teachers with what they need to succeed as Plano educators in their first year. 

All new-to-Plano teachers attend POWER (Plano Onboarding and Welcome - Everybody Ready!), Plano ISD's orientation week. POWER '26 will take place on July 28-31. More information will be added to this page as it becomes available.
