Ms. Adriana Martinez-Mendoza

I was born in Mexico and studied Fine Arts at Universidad de las Américas, Puebla (Mexico). I have been teaching formally since 2000 (university classes mainly), after completing an MFA (Master in Fine Arts) in sculpture from Texas Christian University. I worked as adjunct faculty for the Fine Arts Department in my alma mater until 2007 before coming to Texas for a second time, to study an MA in Art Education at the University of North Texas. I have been teaching in public schools since 2014 and this will be my fourth year at PSHS, teaching studio art and AP Art History. Previously, I taught three years at McMillen High School.

I live in Plano with my son who is a senior at PSHS this year. We have a bunch of birds as pets, they are loud and fun! My preferred art media are drawing, digital art, sculpture and installation. I'm looking forward to another year of learning and experiencing my students' growth through art making and appreciation.
