Although this is the "About Me" page, I am very much part of Your Library, so this will also serve as the go to spot for the Otto Middle School Library!

-
How many books can I check out and when are they due?
Posted by:You may have 3 books checked out at a time and can keep them for 3 weeks. Please be sure to bring back any overdue books and place them in the Library Book Drop located just outside the front doors of Otto Middle School.
-
Can I place a hold on a book?
Posted by:Absolutely. You need to be logged into your library catalog account. You can put up to 5 books on hold at a time. Once we receive it in the library, we will ensure delivery.
-
What if I have an overdue item?
Posted by:We do not charge late fees, however, you must return overdue items before you can check out more than one book at a time. School Messenger phone calls go out to parents to remind you.
The Library Book Drop Box is located just outside of the Otto Middle School front doors. It may be unavailable during inclement weather, but otherwise it is being left outside for the ease of returning books to the library.
-
What if I have lost or damaged my book?
Posted by:Lost or damaged books may be paid for by check (made out to Otto Middle School with the students name and ID number noted) or cash in the library when we are back to in-person school. You will receive a receipt for your payment. If you find your lost book within the school year, you will recieve a refund. The form issued to you must be returned within the school year as well.
Online payment is available through Rycor. This will be treated differently in the library. If you want to pay through Rycor, please notify me so we can post the charge to your student's account. It will then be available for payment online.
You can also replace the book with an exact hardback copy. Paperbacks will not be accepted. If you find your lost book, the replacement book will not be returned to you.
Student accounts that have overdue books past the last day of school in any given school year will have a hold placed on their account. To clear their account, please plan on returning the book, or paying the fee for a lost book.
-
Can I renew items?
Posted by:Yes! Absolutely! You can renew by logging into your library catalog account up to 2 times for a total of a 7 week checkout. The only time you cannot renew is if someone has a hold on the book.
-
Can I suggest books for future orders?
Posted by:Absolutely! Please use the Book Ideas and Suggestions form located on this library webpage under Helpful Links.

What if I need help?
Posted by:The best way to get a hold of Mrs. Harmon during At-Home Learning is through email:
karen.harmon@pisd.edu
Or by calling the library phone number: 469.752.8527
During In-Person Learning, you may come to the library with a pass from your teacher, and as long as Mrs. Harmon is not teaching or helping a class, you may ask her your question.
