Degrees and Certifications:
Greetings SMS Panthers and Parents! I am so excited to begin my first year with the Schimelpfenig family. I previously taught in Birdville ISD, but I am so happy to be back home in Plano and teaching here. I am teaching Applied ELA and Reading this year.
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in special education. I was so impressed with UNT's special education program, and was thrilled to be able to go through it. I knew special education was where my heart was, and I learned so much being there!
This is my sixth year teaching, but my first year teaching after a break, and my first year teaching as a mom. I have 3 little kids at home who I've been home with the last three years. Brooke is 3, Jackson is 2, and ALly is 7 months as I'm starting this school year. They're my biggest fans and cheerleaders, and are about as proud their mom is a PISD teacher this year as I am.
I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and reading.
