Degrees and Certifications:
Lauren Litwin is a recent transplant to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, from the Northern Bay Area of California. Her professional background as a visual artist spans across the realms of Illustration, Graphic Design, and Gallery level Fine Arts. After graduating with her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA, she further pursued the exploration of Illustration and Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. There, she attained her Master in Fine Arts and soon after began exploring the realm of Art Education at the Secondary Level in Queens, New York.
Before joining the Plano ISD family, she taught Digital Photography, and Illustration at Skyline High School in Oakland, CA - co-creating the school's first Visual and Performing Arts Linked Learning academy.
Now, she enjoys teaching Art 1 & 2 2D art as well as Honors at McMillen High School in Murphy, TX as well as lead the Visual Arts Department. In addition to teaching a myriad of talented and creative students, she enjoys guiding her students toward exhibiting their work, having an overall appreciation for the arts, and building creative and life skills through fostering Social Emotional Learning in and outside of the classroom.
On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two dogs swimming, singing, making art, and exploring their new home that is Texas.
