Degrees and Certifications:
College(s): I received my undergrad in Elementary Education from Western Governor's University. I completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M University.
Teaching History: I taught first grade for five years at Universal Academy in Irving Texas. I also served as assistant principal there for two school years.
Family: Growing up as an army brat my family is spread all over but my grandparents live in Fort Worth and we spend as much time as possible together. I'm a mom to an energetic jack russell terrier named Sherlock Bones and a cat named Nancy Drew.
Interests/Hobbies Outside of School: I love exercising and hiking at different parks in the US. I love reading books and making glass mosaics in my free time.
Why did you want to start the IB PYP at Huffman? I wanted to come to Huffman when I heard about the IB PYP curriculum. I love children and learning, and wanted to be a part of an educational family that centers around growing all parts of the child.
