Hello Murphy Mavericks! My name is Ms. Spence and I am so excited to serve as your librarian. This is my 10th year in education and my 3rd as a librarian. Last year was my first year as your librarian here at MMS, but before that, I served as a librarian in Richardson ISD, a 6th grade ELA teacher at Wilson Middle School, and 7th grade ELA teacher in Austin for 5 years. 

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas. 

I LOVE reading and getting to talk to students about books and reading! I can't wait to get to know you better throughout this year and find out what gets YOU excited!
