My name is Volker Ruckgaber. I am a native from Ulm, Germany. I moved to the US to pursue a jazz performance degree at the University of North Texas. I graduated in 2000 and worked all my life as a freelance musician, teacher and clinician. In 2008 I completed my texas teaching certifications and started working as a German teacher. I also hold teaching certifications in Music and Social studies.

I am also a member of the American Association of teaching German and my students participate each year in the National German competition with wonderful results. I consider learning German a fun subject, enabling my students to successfully communicate in a foreign language thus " earning a passport" to the world.
