Mrs. McKayla Martin

Hi there!! I am originally from the DFW area and am in my first year of teaching high school at Clark! I began my teaching career in the middle of COVID last year and have not looked back. I am so excited to get to teach students in person, and I look forward to the opportunities to get to know my students over the course of the year. I got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Literature from Texas A&M University (Whoop!), where I also played collegiate soccer. As you can imagine, I love all things reading, writing, and discussing and I thoroughly enjoy watching and talking about sports (particularly soccer).

My husband, Zach, and I have a husky named Aurora, and we have our first child on the way (due at the end of August!). We consider ourselves coffee and cooking connoisseurs with a deep love for travel and learning from other cultures. We have lived in both China and Thailand for periods of time and are always on the hunt for some authentic Asian cuisine in the area.

I will be teaching English I and English I Honors this year and I can't wait to meet my students!
