Mrs. Alesha Love
Hello! I am Alesha Love and I am one of the School Counselors at Sigler Elem. I began my educational journey after high school by attending Langston University (Langston, OK.), where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Special Education. From there, I attended Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ.) and earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration. My dream of becoming a School Counselor began when I earned a Master's degree in School Counseling from Amberton University (Garland, TX.)
When I am away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family; we try to take a cruise each summer! I also have three grandboys who I love spending time with and watching them grow! I have been married for 19yrs. and we enjoy spending time relaxing while listening to music!
I believe that I was destined to become a school counselor as, while I was a teacher, many students, staff members and families would seek me out to either vent, ask for my advice or just sit and talk. This was very natural for me and it allowed me to have a smooth transition as a school counselor. I strongly believe that all students can learn to become self-advocates and resilient in facing life's challenges. I also believe that all students can succeed and achieve at high levels if given the correct tools and the opportunity to shine! As a school counselor, I strive to provide students with the tools that they need to succeed and achieve academically, socially, emotionally! I look forward to working with your students this year!!!
