Kyla Crawford is an artist and educator, she grew up in Metro Detroit MI where she earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts and a BS in Art Education. She taught art at the high school level for two years until she moved to Houston TX. In Houston, Kyla substitute taught for a few years before continuing her arts education by completing her Master of Fine Arts and joining local guilds. She is the owner and creator of Kyla’s Lab: Textile Arts and Accessories where she sellers her hand dyed yarns and handwoven goods, as well as working as a professional artist. For the past 6 years she taught fibers and sculpture at the University of Houston, as well as workshops and private lessons. She expresses her need to spread the love of art and creative thinking to others by teaching at Clark High School and Collin College.
