Dr. Miriam Ruiz
Greetings Robinson students and families!
My name is Dr. Miriam Ruiz and I am thrilled to be your child's Spanish teacher! I have been an educator for 25 years in many different capacities and from levels K-12 and at the university/college level. I have studied in several countries and attended university in the U.S. and England. I have taught Spanish, Coached Varsity Soccer, Volleyball, Track and Field, taught swimming and gymnastics, and have worked with Special Education, Counseling, and School Administration. There is no better incentive to teach than to realize that today's youth will be the leaders of tomorrow.
I am extremely excited to be teaching such a wonderful group of students. As an avid traveler, I am hopeful that I can convey to my students the beauty of travel, the advantages of learning additional languages, and about new cultures around the world. I am fluent at the native level in Spanish, French, and English.
I was born in the United States and raised mostly in Mexico, Florida, and Texas, and have lived in the U.S., Mexico, the U.K., and Asia. My love of the arts, academics, languages, culture, and sport motivated me to become an educator. During my leisure time, I enjoy playing tennis, golf, soccer, volleyball, dancing, listening to music, cooking, baking, reading, home improvement projects, and spending time with friends and my beautiful daughter--who is also a PISD student!
Super cheers to an amazing school year!
