Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sarah Ronan

I was born and raised in Indiana. Go Hoosiers! I spent fifteen years in Ohio. I have also lived in Egypt, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia.

I have been teaching for 8 years. I have taught in public, private, and international schools. I have taught nearly every ethnicity of students there is. I am very much dedicated to multi-cultural teaching/learning and representation in my classroom.

I am a sixth grade ELAR teacher. My undergrad degree is from UTA in Non-Profit Management. My master's degree is from Mount Saint Joseph Universtiy in Inclusive Childhood Education. I also hold a post-master's Reading Endorsement in order to allow me to be a Reading Specialist. I am licensed in all subjects elementary, ELAR K-12, and Reading K-12.

I am very excited about this school year. I am teaching sixth grade ELAR at Rice. Reading is my passion and I am so excited to share my love of books with my students. I read several genres of books in my personal life. I love psychological thrillers. I am obsessed with historical fiction, particularly focused on the Holocaust and slavery/African-American discriminatory practices. I enjoy personal narratives, especially poitically based. I have read the personal narratives of almost every US president (some have multiple books!). I also enjoy reading books on world religions and comparative religion.
