Welcome to my page.

My name is Melissa Jenkins-Thatcher. I am starting my 2nd year at Shepton.  I work with students whose last names are A-Das.

The 2022-2023 school year marks the beginning of my 22nd year in school counseling and mental health services.

My goal and purpose is to build genuine, caring, trusting relationships with my students and families and to provide comprehensive support services. 

My focus is to address academic growth and needs, mental health concerns, as well as promote the personal, social and emotional well-being of all students.

I love serving the students and families of Shepton and am so excited to meet the incoming freshman and re-connect with returning students!

I grew up on a cattle ranch west of Weatherford. I spent 10 years in North Carolina and 2 years in Alaska before returning to Texas in 2011.

I am married with a son in 8th grade in Plano ISD and two grown daughters (one in Arlington, TX and the other in San Diego, CA).

We enjoy outdoor activities (kayaking, hiking, camping and visiting state and national parks), reading, yoga, puzzles and family games and karaoke nights.
