Romeo Calhoun


 My name is Romeo Calhoun and I am a CTE Health Science Teacher.  I am originally from Huntington Beach California and have lived in Texas since 2017. I served in the United States Navy for ten years as a Navy Corpsman (Navy Cross, Silver Star, Two Purple Hearts). 

While stationed in Japan I managed to extend my own Baseball playing career playing for Mitsubishi/Seibu and finishing my playing career in Australia.  I coached Professional Softball in Japan (1998-99), Mount San Antonio College (2011-2015), California State Fullerton (2016) and Chaffey College (2017) and High School Football and Baseball in (2010). 

I worked for seven years in San Bernardino and Los Angeles County as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Ambulance Operator. 

In 2020, I taught Health Science and EMT at Northwest High School in Justin Texas before coming to Plano West High School. 

I currently teach World Health Research, Health Science Theory, and Medical Terminology.  I have a Texas EC-12 in Physical Education.  I live in Dallas Texas and I have two lovely daughters. 

I am the Associate Head Varsity Softball Coach for John Paul II High School Plano (2021 TAPPS D1 State Champion). Besides teaching, my passion is coaching baseball and softball.
