Mrs. Lori Miller
Hey Tiger Family!
My name is Lori Miller and I am honored to serve as your campus Academic Specialist and 504 Coordinator.
I went to College at Texas Woman's Univeristy where I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2015 and Concordia University Texas in Austin for my Master's of Educational Administration in 2020.
This is my 7th year in Education; I began my teaching career as a 6th grade Science teacher and wrapped up my time in the classroom as the AVID Coordinator at my previous campus.
A big part of my job involves my role as 504 Coordinator where I work with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure all students have access to an equitable education.
Section 504 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 covers students of all ages who have a physical or mental disability that substantially limits a major life activity. That can include reading, learning, and concentrating. A 504 Plan is a legal document that is created by a team of a counselor, academic specialist, a teacher, and other needed staff members to help support the needs of a student with a disability that limits daily activities.
Outside of work, my husband Brett and I love to travel, going to the AAC to support our Dallas Mavericks, and are often walking our two fur-babies Barney and Ranger.
Please feel free to reach out either by email or my office phone call so I can learn more about how I can best support your student.
