Ms. Dickens

My name is Rhonda Dickens, and I am in my 17th year of teaching. I grew up in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area, and then attended Texas Christian University where I majored in News/Editorial Journalism. While teaching 8th Grade Reading at an Arlington I.S.D. junior high, I earned my master's degree in Reading Education, and eventually became a certified Reading Specialist. For four years, I built a journalism program at a brand new high school in the Fort Worth area, and then I made the move across the metroplex to work in Plano I.S.D. at Shepton High School. I left to relocate to Rockwall, where I worked at Rockwall-Heath High School for three years. I have made my return to Plano I.S.D. where I will work with students identified as needing dyslexia services, and where I will teach Scottish Rite's Take Flight curriculum at Armstrong Middle School. Go Tigers!

At home, I enjoy reading, photography, swimming, and spending time with three nieces and my two rescue pups, Speckles and Maple.
