Coach Barron

Hello,

I’m Carlos Barron and I teach PE! This is my 16th year teaching, but my first year at Rasor Elementary. I personally enjoy working out, riding bikes with my son and hiking (when I can travel to places with mountains!) Staying active is important to maintain overall health and it’s my goal to encourage students to work hard and have fun!

I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Exercise, Sports and Science. I moved to Dallas in 2006 and am proud to be a North Texan!

I am happily married with three children. My oldest daughter, Jalynn, is also a teacher. I have two young children with my wife. My son, Noah, is a 6th grader and my youngest daughter, Ava, is in pre-K. We enjoy traveling to different places, especially where there is a beach!

On a typical weekend, you’d find me watching a college football game. If I could, I would fly to Miami to watch all the U home games. But, most of the times (ok 99% of the time) I watch from my living room.  I also like going to the movies. Nothing beats movie-theater popcorn! The rest of the time, I’m at church, working on the lawn, taking my little one to gymnastics or doing projects around the house.
