I am originally from the Houston area, but have lived in north Texas since 2001 when I became a student of the University of North Texas. I received my bachelor's degree in social studies in 2005 and spent six years teaching world geography and cultures in Denton I.S.D. After receiving my master's degree in teaching E.S.L, I spent most of the last ten years as the Director of Education for a Dallas-based non-profit, where I taught adult English to refugees, created enrichment programs, and trained volunteer teachers. I returned to public education in 2021 in McKinney I.S.D.
Personally, I love reading, travelling, and performing as a comedic improviser with my fiance Matt. I also have a wonderful five-year-old son who starts kindergarten this year.
I'm very excited to join the dedicated staff of Vines High for the 2022-2023 school year.
