Ms. Shehan is originally from Toledo, Ohio and when school isn’t in session, she lives in Brooklyn, Michigan. She is married, has two married sons, and a marvelous grandson. She taught every grade from middle school to college courses. She was a Futures Foundation Grant recipient, Stanford Teacher of Recognition, and MIT Teacher of Influence. This is year 30 of her teaching career.
In her spare time, Ms. Shehan enjoys playing with and training her two shelties, traveling, flipping furniture and their nearly 100 year-old lake home, and most importantly, spending time with her young grandson.
Ms. Shehan received her B.S. from the University of Texas at Dallas and her master’s degree from North Texas University. Despite attending these fine universities, she taught at and was an academic advisor at the University of Toledo, so she is known to cry out, “GO ROCKETS!” from time to time.
Passionate about lifelong learning, Ms. Shehan feels that all students can be successful if they dedicate themselves and receive the help they need. She enjoys working with students one-on-one and finding what works best for learners.
