Betsy Pemberton-Orr, M.Ed., CES
Betsy Pemberton-Orr is in her thirteenth year of coaching and teaching. She is driven and hard-working, with an abundance of experience- both playing and coaching at multiple levels. Coach Orr has taught a variety of subjects, including, Math, Dance, PE, and Technology. She began her coaching career at the collegiate level as the Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Basketball Team at the University of Texas at Tyler from 2003-2005, where the teams earned the Conference Champion title. Coach Orr worked as an Exercise Specialist, during her time at UT-Tyler. After graduating with her M.Ed in Exercise Physiology, she continued her career as the Assistant Womens’ Basketball Coach at Southwestern University in 2008. Coach Orr worked as an Assistant Coach at 3A Lindale High School in East Texas from 2009-2011. She furthered her career at 6A Atascocita High School from 2012-2014. Coach Orr helped both teams advance to the play-offs. She then took a Head Girls Basketball position at 6A Klein Collins High School in Spring, TX, where she gave re-birth to contending in the play-offs in the 2014-15 school year. Coach Orr was part of the National and State Championship Program at Duncanville High School, with a record of 39-0. Upon the arrival of her son in the Summer of 2016, she moved back to the Houston area to support her husband, who was coaching football at 6A Atascocita High School. Two years later, she returned to coaching at the middle school level. She is excited to be back in the Dallas area and will strive to make a difference in the students’ lives. Coach Orr is grateful to be a part of the Armstrong family and traditions.
