I am excited to be joining Bowman as the 6th grade Honors Math teacher. I love tricky math problems, creating links between math and real life, and helping students explain their thinking. I have more than 15 years of experience, including teaching grades 2-8, working as a instructional math coach for grades K-8, and also serving as an elementary and middle school principal. Most of my career was in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I am excited to be in Texas now! I also had a previous career in the corporate world, including health care and technology.
I have an undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford University. My teaching credential is from Notre Dame de Namur, and this December I will finish my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy from Boston College. My husband and I are empty nesters now, but travel as much as possible to see our three grown daughters. They live in fun places to visit – NYC, San Jose, CA, and Charlotte, NC. When not working or spending time with my family. I love to do crafts, read, binge Netflix shows and listen to true crime podcasts.
I look forward to getting to know the Bowman community!
