Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Advertising University of Texas at Austin
Mr. Chris Bearden
I am originally from Birmingham, MI. My family moved to Richardson, TX in 1974 to expand our textile business into the Southwest. I attended high school at Jesuit College Prep in Dallas. From there, my journey took me to Austin, TX where I attended the University of Texas. I studied Advertising and Marketing and worked in the corporate world until I was 29. I obtained my alternative certification from Region 10 in 1995, the same year I met my wife. We have been teachers for 27 years all over the State of Texas. We have four kids: Kate 22, Thomas 16, Brendan 14, and Mary Beth 11. All of our kids have attended Plano schools. I have been an AP Statistics teacher and consultant for 21 years. I have coached basketball and track at the Varsity level at many different schools throughout Texas. Last year I received my CDL-A license which enables me to drive semi-tractor trailers in my free time. I love teaching mathematics, especially through real-world applications. I enjoy driving big rigs and working in this different and dynamic world. I hope to teach school and develop a regional trucking business in the years ahead. I love to read, binge mini-series on Netflix and Prime, and train for marathon bike events. I have ridden in the "Hotter Than Hell 100" three times and this Spring will ride in my 9th MS 150 to raise money to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. I also enjoy training for and competing in Olympic distance triathlons.
