Experience In Education: 

I began teaching in Plano ISD as a substitute teacher in 1994. In 1996 I joined the Bethany Elementary staff and in 2006 I move to the Hunt Elementary Staff, at both Hunt and Bethany I taught Kindergarten and 1st grade.  In 2023 I transferred to Rasor Elementary to teach 2nd grade. In 2001 I received my Masters of Education from UNT.

Background:

I grew up in the Texas panhandle in the town of Quitaque.  I attended Texas Tech University and have a BS in Early Childhood Education.  I taught 4th grade in Nazareth, Texas and Kindergarten in Littlefield, Texas.  I have about 6 years experience in Child Development Centers working with children 6 weeks to 13 year old.  In 1993 I married Michael Kern and we moved to Plano, making it our home. We have 3 children Holly, Steven and Benjamin.  Holly graduated for Plano East and both boys graduated from Plano Senior. I love to travel, attend concerts, and do puzzles. I am very excited to be at Rasor Elementary and to be in 2nd grade.
