I am a native Texan.  I graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Education for grades 1-8. I have taught at various grade levels from elementary to high school, over the years, but middle school is my favorite.  I have taught the last 4 years at a Charter school in Frisco.  I have worked in Special Education and as a Dyslexia teacher over the years.  This is my first year at Murphy Middle School.  .  

I married my high school sweetheart after graduating from college and we were married for 45 years before he passed away last fall.  I have 4 grown children, two sons and two daughters, and 6 grandchildren that live in the Plano/Wylie area.  My oldest grandson has lived with my husband and me since he was a baby.  . 

I love watching baseball (Go Rangers!), football (Hook 'Em Horns!) and volleyball.  I am an avid mystery reader and also read historical non-fiction.  Cooking and collecting cookbooks are some of my hobbies.  I enjoy traveling and watching all my grandchildren play their various sports.  My favorite place from my travels was London, England.   

I have also been a BSA Scout leader for over 30 years, both in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  Both of my sons and my oldest grandson are Eagle Scouts.  I am currently a Troop Committee Chair for the troop my grandson is a member of.  I encourage any young people to join scouting as it teaches leadership skills and confidence.
