Mrs. Mandy Neece

Hello! My name is Mandy Neece. This is my 13th year teaching at Jasper. I am a Plano ISD graduate. I attended the University of North Texas and study abroad at the University of Leeds in England.  I have been team leader of Geography for the last 10 years and serve as a mentor liaison to all new teachers and second year teachers at Jasper High School.

This year, I will be teaching Honors World Geography, World Geography, and PALS. I am passionate about teaching Geography and hope it will soon become your favorite class. Geography is the study of the interaction between people and their environments, both natural and human. This year, we will look at cultural, political, economic, and physical aspects of places across the globe and how humans interact with their environment. A common misconception that I would like to fix is that geography is all MAPS. Maps are one tool that geographers use to study this interaction, but geography itself is not the study of maps.  This will be my 12th year sponsoring PALS. I have loved the program since I was a PAL in high school. PALS stands for Peer Assistance and Leadership program. This gives sophomore students the opportunity to work with their special needs peers and mentor at both Gulledge Elementary School and Robinson Middle School.

I have always loved incorporating technology in the classroom to increase engagement and critical thinking. I have been a member of the Jasper Tech Team for the last four years. I am currently a Google Level 1 & Level 2 certified educator and a Certified Nearpod Educator. I am working on my certification in PearDeck, FlipGrid, and EdPuzzle.

I love Harry Potter (I think I would be in Ravenclaw), playing outside with my kids, and watching movies on our projector in the backyard.

I look forward to working with and getting to know your student this year. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
