I am product of Plano. I attended Shepherd ES, Wilson MS, Vines HS & then graduated from TAMS (Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at UNT). I attended UTD after receiving a full scholarship that paid for both my Bachelor's & Master's. I taught for 9 years at Vines, then stepped away from public education for a few years. I returned to a position at Jasper HS. I have now been at Clark since 2012 and love it!! I am currently the Chemistry Team leader & science co-department chair. I teach because I love positively impacting kids' lives and their thinking. I love what I get to do for a living!
A recent email from a former student summarizes why I love what I get to do so much, "Although I only spent 50 minutes a day with you, you made a lasting impression on me. Things have been a bit rocky over the past few months, but I've found that three words have stuck with me through it all: "always choose joy." The lessons you've taught me extend far beyond valence electrons. Because of you, intergrity has taken on a whole new meaning in my life and I constantly remind myself to make the decision to be happy despite any situation I may be in."
