Hello! My name is Amanda Smith and I'm starting my 8th year at Shepton. I've been with Plano ISD since 2009 and am a graduate of Plano East. I love to read, garden, travel, and be a mom and grandmom. I love all things Disney! I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I started my education career by working as a paraprofesional at Guinn Special Programs Center. I enjoyed working with special education students at that school and originally wanted to work as a counselor. The counselor I had in high school made a huge impact on my life. Once I got to work in the classroom, I decided I didn't want to leave it. I got my teaching certificate through ACT Dallas in Special Education. I have worked as a Behavior Specialist, Transition Specialist, MAPS teacher, and Peer Assistant teacher over the last 7 years. This year, I will work with the Social Studies Department and provide inclusion support for those students who might need a little extra help.
