¡Hola!

I go by Señorita Ortiz and I am the LOTE Department Chair. I have been part of the Plano West Wolfpack since I first started teaching in 2009. That year I taught Spanish 3 in the mornings at West and Spanish 3H in the afternoons at Plano Senior. The following three years I taught Spanish 2H and 3H at Shepton. I rejoined the Wolfpack in the 2013-2014 school year. I am also a certified school counselor, but my love for teaching has kept me in the classroom.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Texas at the age of 14. I love teaching the Spanish language and culture, but I enjoy learning from my students just as much! I am a life-long learner, a world traveler, a cat and dog lover, and an advocate of kindness. I hope that my class motivates students to continue learning and using Spanish, and that it promotes a Global Citizen mentality.
