Ms. Teri Burns Shehan
Some people know me as Teri McIntire, but I've changed my name by re-marrying and I'm now Teri Shehan. I've taught in PISD since 1993 (although I left for a few years to teach in my home city of Toledo, Ohio and then came back). I've taught everything from Earth Science and Biology to almost all levels of high school English, Humanities, World of Ideas, and American Studies. I am proud to say I came to Plano West the year it opened and was excited to be part of the initiation of students, staff and faculty. Previous to teaching at PWSH, I taught at PSHS, Hendrick Middle School, and Schimelpfenig Middle School. Before Covid, I taught all Collin College English classes. I currently teach AP English IV and Honors English III.
Both of my sons graduated from Plano schools, so I've been with Plano as a mom and a teacher. One of my sons is also a teacher in the district; my connection to PISD runs very deep!
When I'm not prepping, grading, and planning, I spend time with my adorable grandson, Walter Jacob McIntire. Wally is the reason I returned to Texas.
When we are on breaks from school, I live in Brooklyn, Michigan at my home on Little Stoney Lake with my husband and two Shetland Sheepdogs: Duncan and Maisie. My daughter-in-law and I refinish and flip furniture and we enjoy decorating. I spend time biking, hiking, and anything on the water at the lake, exploring, and when it's too hot, I paint and draw.
