Mrs. Andrea Denuszek
I was born in New Orleans, Lousiana but have lived in Dallas most of my adult life. I am married with one son and daughter in law with two Great Danes named Gus and Thor. I graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A & M with a double major in Psychology and Counseling and Guidance. I have certifications in Special Education and Elementary Education. I was a Special Education teacher for six years, teaching English and Reading in Garland ISD before pursuing a Masters in Counseling from Texas A & M University. I have been a practicing school counselor for 16 years, in California, and Texas. I enjoy my role as a counselor working with students to affect change and guide them through their high school years academically, socially, and emotionally. My philisophy is that we are given the awesome responsibility and opportunity to impact the lives of our students and to help build character they will carry into the rest of their life. My greatest reward I receive is when my students are thriving and being successful. As a student myself, I had very influential teachers in my life and I hope I can be someone that has touched my students lives in a positive way as my teachers did for me. Young people are our future and we must help them be the best version of themselves and reach their fullest potential.
Things I enjoy doing in my leisure time are traveling with my husband, interior decorating, and my latest hobby, painting.
