Mr. Robert P. Dissinger

I am glad to have you in my class this year to learn about the history of the great state of Texas! As a native Texan who grew up in South Texas, I enjoy sharing fun historical facts with my students.

After graduating from Flour Bluff HS in Corpus Christi, TX, I attended Texas A & I University-Kingsville and received an Army ROTC scholarship.  Upon receiving my Bachelor's degree and my officer commission by President George H. Bush, I began my teaching and coaching career while also serving in the US Army Reserve.  I have been a teacher since 1992 in Texas schools, finally joining the staff at Robinson in 1997.  My service in the Army Reserve has sometimes taken me away from my teaching role and placed on Active Duty.  However, after my recent time on active duty, I retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years of service.  I am happy to be returning to the staff at Robinson and continuing in service to my students and helping them to love the stories and history of our state!
