Hello! My name is Sharlene Barton, and I am a counselor at Frankford. One of the best things about being a middle school counselor in PISD is the fact that I am the counselor with my students for three years. We get to know each other well. It is amazing to watch the academic, physical and emotional changes take place from a new 6th grade student to an 8th grade student ready to move on to high school. I love my job because it gives me an opportunity to connect with students, to help and support them, and to watch their progress.
A little about me - I have three grown children and twelve amazing grandchildren who add so much joy to my life. I attended the University of Utah where I received a B.A. degree in English. I taught school for a few years and went on the raise my children. I then attended Texas A&M - Commerce and recieved a M.S. degree in Counseling. I am not only a Professional School Counselor, but I also am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked both in the schools and in private practice settings.
I feel so fortunate to be a part of Frankford. I love working with students, parents, and our fabulous staff!
