Mrs. Jennifer Penny

I went through Plano ISD schools as a student, attending Dooley Elementary, Armstrong Middle School, Williams High School, and I graduated from Plano East Senior High). After college, I began teaching at Rice Middle School in 2001. During my time here, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English, humanities, and reading.

Like so many teachers, I come from a family of educators.  My mother was a science teacher for over 33 years.  My father was a band director and eventually went into district administration.  My brother is actually the band director here at Rice!  My sister-in-law is also a band director, so our entire family seems to be in education!

My favorite aspect of being a teacher is the fact that no two days are ever the same.  I also love building relationships with my students, and nothing makes me happier than visiting with former students so I can hear all about how they've grown and changed over the years.
