What an honor it is to serve you as Assistant Principal at Rice Middle School. Rice has certainly earned a reputation as a campus that supports, inspires, and empowers everyone in the building, and I am excited to be a part of this dynamic team.
I am in my 18th year in education. My educational career began at in Allen ISD, where I taught ESL and held various leadership roles for several years. I enjoyed sponsoring the yearbook and working with students of all sorts of backgrounds. From 2007-2009, I was a teacher and administrative intern at Harrison Intermediate in Wylie. I then enjoyed opening the new high school in Prosper ISD where I served as an assistant principal from 2009-2010. I was called to Plano ISD and was an assistant principal at Frankford Middle School in 2010. After serving in that role one year, Mr. Glasscock, the principal of Rice Middle School, contacted me to partner with him at Rice and contribute to his leadership team as one of the assistant principals.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. I have also completed the Superintendency coursework from Dallas Baptist University and am about halfway to completing my doctorate.
My philosophy of education begins with relationships, as I believe they are the key to success. If mutual respect and trust are the foundation for building relationships, students engage in the learning process and teachers unite together and collaborate effectively. I began teaching because I thought I could make a difference in the lives of others. In doing so, I've found that they have made all the difference in mine.
