Ms. Rita Attuquayefio

Teacher:  English Language Arts and Reading 8

I was born in Ruston, Louisiana and raised 4 miles down the road in Grambling, La. I love and miss that slow, quiet, country life at times.  I am the proud daughter of 2 wonderful parents who were both professors at Grambling State University for over 40 years. I could go on and on about them, but I'll go on about me.  I moved to Texas for college in 1989 after graduating from Ruston High School. I am a proud Baylor University graduate. My B.A. is in Music Education.  I received a full music scholarship (violin major) to Baylor; so, yes, I played my way right on through college. Whatever gifts you have, students, polish them up and use them to your advantage.  You'll be surprised how much cheaper college tuition can be. Moving on...several years later I decided to pursue my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of North Texas.  I received my Master's in the Summer of 2010. As of the 2020-2021 school year, I have been teaching 25 years and still have not lost my love for teaching children.
