I have worked at Jackson Elementary School for 24 years. I began my education career in the technology department in 1996 to 2001. Interested in teaching art, I went back to school and earned my art education certification. Luckily for me, there was an opening for the art teacher position at Jackson, and I have taught art here from the Fall of 2001 to present.
Before I started working for Plano ISD in 1996, I worked as a free-lance portrait artist. I have also exhibited my art in galleries and contests over the last 20 years. My favorite art media is painting, drawing and ceramics.
I also sang for the Sweet Adeline Organization, Texas Harmony Chorus for 8 years. We competed and sang on stage at Carnegie Hall in 2008.
In February 2020, I will be married to my partner of 4 years. He is a ceramics/sculpture artist and a retired art teacher for Lewisville ISD. He taught for 36 years. We both teach ceramics to adults at his studio in Copper Canyon. I also teach painting and drawing to adults on the weekends.
I have two grown boys that live in Wylie. I grew up in the Washington DC area, and I have a sister in Germantown, MD, and a brother in McLean, VA. I enjoy spending time with them in the summers.
