My name is Venus Howard and I am beyond excited to begin another year at Wells Elementary! I attended Prairie View A & M University (Who Ya’ Rootin’ For?!) where I received a Bachelors degree in Architecture with an emphasis in Project Management. I was a day camp counselor, private kindergarten teacher, preschool curriculum director, preschool center director, and then joined Wells as a special education paraprofessional.  I served in this role for two years and participated in an alternative certification program.  I applied, interviewed, and was selected to serve as a special education teacher at Wells.  I have served as an educator at Wells since 2013 and I STILL enjoy each minute that I get to collaborate with my colleagues and create a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children. I recently received my Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in instructional leadership. My wonderful husband Wesley and I have an son in middle school and a daughter in preschool. In my spare time I love to encourage others, paint and letter by hand, serve at my Church, sing karaoke, workout, and take my son to his many youth sports activities.  I also enjoy spending time with my family and reading good books.
