Kinder Dual Teacher

Hi, my name is Elsa Navarrete de Lopez I will be your child's Dual Kindergarten teacher for the 2022-2023 school year! This will be my 7th year teaching at Thomas Elementary. I am excited to make this a great year!

I was born and raised in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, México. When I graduated from high school, I moved to Saltillo Coahuila, México to attend the Tecnologico de Monterrey University. I got my bachelor's degree in 1997 in Accounting. I moved to Dallas Tx. and got my Teaching certification in the areas of Generalist (grades EC-6) and Bilingual Education (Grades Ec-6). I went to Southern Methodist University and got my Master's in Bilingual Education in 2006.

I have been teaching for 11 years. I taught  Pre-k for 4 years at Garland ISD, then I moved to Plano ISD and taught 2nd grade for one year and kinder for 6 years. I love teaching and watching my students grow.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Alfonso, and our three beautiful kids. Alfonso (16), Andres (14) and Elizabeht (11). We love to spend time together and playing soccer is the family passion. I also love going to the movies and taking long walks with my dog, Luke.
