Tanji Johnson

Instructional Coach/Support

My journey started here at Dooley in 2007 working as a first grade teacher. For ten years I remained in that position. I truly enjoyed the experience of watching the growth that takes place for students during the first grade year. Through my amazing experience during those years, I developed a passion for helping students who were at risk academically. My love for struggling learners, led me into a position as an K-2 Intervention Specialist. I worked to help close learning gaps in students and developed myself professionally in the process. I returned to the classroom for three years in second grade and learned so much about myself as an instructor. My path has now led me to provide support to teachers through instructional coaching. Together we will work to deliver quality instruction and increase student growth!
I completed my education at the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. I later pursued my career in education. I will continuously pursue personal and professional growth and development in order to provide Dooley students with excellent educational experiences. I am married with two children who are both former Dooley Dragons. I enjoy spending time with my family, trying new foods, and traveling.
